WORLD SERIES INFORMATION

 

Your team must be registered with roster online @ USSSA and entry paid online. 

Global Sports Baseball will offer World Series Qualifiers and World Series events. Global Sports Baseball World Series Qualifiers will award berths to the Global Sports Baseball World Series and teams will earn USSSA NIT points.  Qualifiers will be limited in number per state.

Any team planning to attend a Global Sports Baseball World Series MUST play in a USSSA State Tournament to validate their Global Sports Baseball World Series berth...NO EXCEPTIONS!

The Global Sports Baseball 
World Series will begin on Wednesday with a Manager's Meeting & Opening Ceremonies.  Play will begin Thursday morning with champions being crowned on Sunday. The Global Sports Baseball World Series will be a six (6) game guarantee event

IMPORTANT NOTE: All player's first names, middle names, last names, and birth dates must appear on the roster as they do on the Birth Certificates (see USSSA Rule 3.07).  Failure to comply with this rule will result in your team being prohibited from participating in the USSSA World Series!  Team Credentials will be checked in at the USSSA World Series with photocopies of Original Birth Certificates or Approved USSSA ID.

 

IMPORTANT NOTE: All players participating in USSSA Baseball World Series play shall have photocopies of their Original Birth Certificates or Approved USSSA Photo ID in the possession of their team manager AT ALL TIMES.  Failure to have a photocopy of the Original Birth Certificate or Approved USSSA Photo ID available upon demand will result in the offending team losing the game, being ejected from the World Series, being placed last in the standings and forfeiting all awards that would have been awarded at the World Series.   Any player can play in a higher age classification but cannot play in a lower age group.

 

1.     Player eligibility in the Scholastic Divisions will be as prescribed by the USSSA Handbook.

2.     Bases will be  80’ for 13U.

3.     All players must be fully uniformed, which includes the following: Pants, socks, cap, and team shirt with numbers that are non-duplicating and at least three inches in height.

4.     Managers and coaches must wear a baseball cap with team insignia and will be properly dressed.

5.     While in the field, as a defensive player, team caps must be worn.

6.     Protest on uniforms will not be allowed. It shall be the Tournament Directors responsibility regarding uniform legality. Violation of the uniform rule will result in the violator being allowed to conform or be removed from the game.

7.     A full-use batting helmet which covers the top and back of the head and the side of the face must be worn by every player while in the on deck circle, when at bat and while on the bases.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT  This event will be a 6 Game Guarantee. 4 pool play games then seeded into a single elimination bracket with consolation games. Schedules will be posted right after the opening ceremony Wednesday 7:30 p.m. Each team will receive 3 complimentary passes.

* Players will be timed on their speed from home plate to home plate. * Each participant will be given 1 attempt.  Fastest single times will be determined The winner AND  Lou Brock Champion. 

* Participants will start in the batter box as a righty! 

* Time will start on the whistle and will stop when he touches home plate.

* FAILURE TO TOUCH HOME PLATE OR ANY BASE WILL RESULT IN THE DISQUALIFICATION OF THAT ATTEMPT.  Do not miss a base!!!!

Eight (8) or nine (9) players will compete from each team in this contest (pitcher optional). Each base must be tagged. Teams will BE GIVEN THIER TIME AT CHECK IN.  No passing will be allowed.  TEAMS GET 2 ATTEMPTS.  (Players may tag base with glove or any part of the body!)

  • The PITCHER throws the baseball to the CATCHER. (The team's time begins when the CATCHER tags home plate and releases the baseball.) If the catcher misses home plate, time begins when the baseball is released + a 5 second penalty is assessed.
  • The CATCHER must throw the ball to the THIRD BASEMAN tagging third base.
  • The THIRD BASEMAN must throw the ball to the SECOND BASEMAN tagging second base.
  • The SECOND BASEMAN must throw the ball to the FIRST BASEMAN tagging first base.
  • The FIRST BASEMAN must throw the ball to the CATCHER tagging home plate.
  • The CATCHER must throw the ball to the SHORTSTOP tagging second base.
  • THE SHORTSTOP must throw the ball to the RIGHT FIELDER tagging the outfield spot in right field and throwing the ball to the SECOND BASEMAN tagging second base.
  • THE SECOND BASEMAN must throw the ball to the CENTER FIELDER who must tag the outfield spot in centerfield and throw the ball to the THIRD BASEMAN tagging third base.
  • THE THIRD BASEMAN must throw the ball to the LEFT FIELDER who must tag the outfield spot in leftfield and throw the ball to the CATCHER covering home plate. (The team's time ends when the CATCHER tags home plate.)
  • A five second penalty will be assessed for each umpire-assisted overthrow and each missed base including home plate

Global Sports Baseball Team Registration

To participate in a Global Sports Baseball World Series Qualifiers and State Championships each team must be registered with USSSA Baseball and Global Sports Baseball.  Teams may register at www.usssa.com.  Global Sports Baseball registration is $15.00 per season year. 

 

 

Global Sports Baseball World Series Qualifiers

• Award Global Sports Baseball World Series berths.

• Award USSSA NIT Points.

• Teams may enter multiple qualifiers to increase their chances.

Comment: Teams that qualify for the Global Sports Baseball World Series are not guaranteed a specific World Series location.  Qualified teams must enter the Global Sports Baseball World Series online at www.usssa.comon a first come, first served basis. 

Global Sports Baseball World Series

• Open to all classes 9U – 14U (Elite WS qualified teams are ineligible).

• Limited to the first 24 teams per age division to enter online and qualify.

• Teams are allowed two (2) "Write In" players on their roster.
   ("Write In" players may not be on an Elite WS qualified team.)

• Opening ceremonies held Wednesday evening.
• Five (5) day World Series event (Wednesday – Sunday).

• Six (6) game guarantee with a seven (7) game average per team.

• Pool play and bracket play.
• Three (Red, White & Blue) championship elimination brackets.

• Each bracket will crown a World Series Champion.

• Multiple World Series sites.

• Teams may participate in multiple World Series.

 

 

POOL PLAY

Teams will play four (4) pool games.  The top two teams from each pool will advance to the Red Championship bracket while the middle two teams advance to the White Championship bracket and the bottom two teams to the Blue Championship bracket.
