World Series Details

These World Series will be played in Charlotte, NC and 9u is going to play at Nevins Park, 11u is going to play at Hornets Nest and 14's will play in South Charlotte at area High Schools and at Dolby Bridge in South Carolina.

The host hotel is Courtyard University at 333 West W.T. Harris Blvd. Charlotte, NC 28262.

The host hotel Courtyard University at 333 West W.T. Harris Blvd is where check in is going to be Thursday July 9 from 9am - 1pm.  Please have team with you at check in along with birth certificates.

USSSA Baseball uses a pool play / bracket play format in its World Series.  Teams will be seeded in pools by USSSA Points where they will play a round robin.  Following pool play teams will be re-seeded into the double elimination championship bracket or single elimination consolation bracket based on pool play results.  The exact format, (e.g., number of pools, quantity of teams in each pool, etc.), will be set by the World Series Tournament Director following USSSA Baseball Guidelines and being approved by the USSSA Baseball National Director.  Teams are guaranteed five (5) games.

Teams securing a USSSA World Series berth must play in the State Championship Tournament in their home state to validate their berth.  Contact your USSSA BASEBALL STATE DIRECTOR for information regarding State Championship Tournaments in your home state. 

Your team's WORLD SERIES ENTRY FORM, OFFICIAL USSSA ON-LINE ROSTER and Cashier's Check or Money Order (no personal or team checks accepted) MUST be received by your USSSA BASEBALL STATE DIRECTOR by July 3, 2009. 

Your State Director will then forward your World Series Transmittal to World Series Headquarters by July 4, 2009 to guarantee participation in the World Series.  Team entry fee for this five (5) game guarantee World Series is 8U-12U $495.00 and 13U - HS is $595

 

Your Cashier's Check or Money Order ONLY should be made payable to USSSA BASEBALL.

 

IMPORTANT NOTE: All player's first names, middle names, last names, and birth dates must appear on the roster as they do on the Birth Certificates (see USSSA Rule 3.07).  Failure to comply with this rule will result in your team being prohibited from participating in the USSSA World Series!  Team Credentials will be checked in at the USSSA World Series with photocopies of Original Birth Certificates or Approved USSSA ID.

 

IMPORTANT NOTE: All players participating in USSSA Baseball World Series play shall have photocopies of their Original Birth Certificates or Approved USSSA Photo ID in the possession of their team manager AT ALL TIMES.  Failure to have a photocopy of the Original Birth Certificate or Approved USSSA Photo ID available upon demand will result in the offending team losing the game, being ejected from the World Series, being placed last in the standings and forfeiting all awards that would have been awarded at the World Series.

 

NOTE:

1.      Any player who before May 1st 2009 reaches their 10th birthday shall not be eligible to play in the 9U World Series.

2.      Any player who before May 1st 2009 reaches their 11th birthday shall not be eligible to play in the 10U World Series.

3.      Any player who before May 1st 2009 reaches their 12th birthday shall not be eligible to play in the 11U World Series.

4.      Any player who before May 1st 2009 reaches their 13th birthday shall not be eligible to play in the 12U World Series.

5.      Any player who before May 1st 2009 reaches their 14th birthday shall not be eligible to play in the 13U World Series.

6.      Any player who before May 1st 2009 reaches their 15th birthday shall not be eligible to play in the 14U World Series.

7.      Any player can play in a higher age classification but cannot play in a lower age group.

8.      Player eligibility in the Scholastic Divisions will be as prescribed by the USSSA Handbook.

9.      Bases will be 65' for 9U/10U, 70’ for 11U/12U, 80’ for 13U, 90’ for 14U-High School and the pitching distance will be as prescribed in the USSSA Baseball Handbook.

10. All players must be fully uniformed, which includes the following: Pants, socks, cap, and team shirt with numbers that are non-duplicating and at least three inches in height.

11. Managers and coaches must wear a baseball cap with team insignia and will be properly dressed. (Coaches may wear coaches' shorts).

12. While in the field, as a defensive player, team caps must be worn.

13. Protest on uniforms will not be allowed. It shall be the Tournament Directors responsibility regarding uniform legality. Violation of the uniform rule will result in the violator being allowed to conform or be removed from the game.

14. Metal spikes are prohibited in age groups 5-12.

15. A full-use batting helmet which covers the top and back of the head and the side of the face must be worn by every player while in the on deck circle, when at bat and while on the bases.

16. All bat boys/girls will wear full-use batting helmets when their team is at bat.

17. The catcher must wear protective gear: Mask, chest protector, shin guards, protective cup, catchers helmet and throat guard. Ages 7-12: Catchers must wear helmet that fully covers their ears.

18. All rules and rules of play not specifically covered herein shall be governed by the USSSA BASEBALL NATIONAL BYLAWS & RULES.

July 10th we will have a player socil on that night with the skills competition being held at one of the parks.

Note:
Pin Trading has become a tradition at USSSA World Series events, players will have an opportunity to trade pins during the skills competition and social prior to the opening ceremony. Team pins are not mandatory but certainly adds to the fun of this special event.

No food or drinks are allowed to be brought in park.  Only small ice chest with rags and Team coolers (1) per dugout allowed.

 

Team Check In

Team Check-In will be July 9, 2009 from 9:00 am -11:00am  at a site To Be Determined. This is the only time teams may check-in.

Admission

Admission during the tournament will be $7.00 per person per day or $25.00 for a tournament pass. For children (6-12) the charge will be $5.00 or $15.00 for a tournament pass. This charge includes everyone except players and team coaches. A maximum of 3 player/coach passes will be issued.
